On Tuesday morning, August 30, 2022, H.E. SOK Dara, Director General of Trust Regulator (TR), presided over and provided the Opening Remark in the workshop on “AmCham Tax – Breakfast” organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (AmCham) with the presence of Mr. Anthony Galliano, President of AmCham. The purpose of this workshop is to disseminate the Law on Trust and other topics related to taxation of trust in other countries in the region and in Cambodia. This workshop was attended by 100 participants coming from the top management of real estate companies, banks, law offices, trust companies, insurance firms, and educational institutions.
In the afternoon of Tuesday, August 23, 2022, the Trust Regulator (TR) and the Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia (SERC) organized a training and capacity building workshop for their officials on "Leadership: Dynamic, Vibrant, Balance" in order to increase awareness and build capacity as well as gain additional knowledge and experiences related to leadership to 150 participants who are managements and officials of the TR at the Building of the Non-Bank Financial Services Authority (NBFSA). The workshop was presented and discussed by honored speakers such as H.E. Dr. HUOT Pum, Under Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and Deputy Secretary General of the General Secretariat for Committee on Economic and Financial Policy, H.E. SOU Socheat, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge as Director General of the SERC and H.E. SOK Dara, Director General of the TR on the topic of Self-Leadership, Institutional-Leadership and Leadership Practices from Singapore and the workshop was actively involved by the participants and ended fruitfully.
In the morning of Monday, 18 July 2022, honored to be granted permission by H.E. Akka Pundit Sopheacha AUN PORNMONIROTH, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance, and Chairman of the Non-Bank Financial Services Authority council, within the framework of the implementation of Public Financial Management reform activities, Trust Regulator (TR) organized an internal awareness dissemination workshop of the TR on "Institutional Development Plan of the TR for 5 years (2021-2025) and the Achievements in the 1st Semester of 2022 and Further Work Direction" under the high presidency of H.E. SOK Dara, Director General of the TR, accompanied by His Excellency Deputy Director Generals and Director of the Departments of the TR which took place from 18-19 July 2022 at Empress Angkor Hotel of Siem Reap Province, Kingdom of Cambodia.
On the morning of 27 June 2022, H.E. SOK Dara, Director General of the Trust Regulator (TR) accompanied by his colleagues attended the workshop on "Knowledge Sharing Program Between General Secretariat of the Non-Bank Financial Services Authority (FSA) and the Financial Services Authority of Indonesia (OJK)" held at Rosewood Hotel Phnom Penh under the high presidency of His Excellency Mey Vann, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and Secretary General of the General Secretariat of the Non-Bank Financial Services Authority (FSA).
On the morning of 15 June 2022, H.E. SOK Dara, Director General of the Trust Regulator (TR) accompanied by his colleagues attended the workshop on "The Role of Insurance Sector and FinTech in Digital Economy in Cambodia" held at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra under the high presidency of His Excellency Ros Seilava, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and Chairman of the Working Group on Drafting the Cambodia Fintech Development Policy.
On the morning of Tuesday, June 7th, 2022, H.E. SOK Dara, Director General of Trust Regulator (TR), accompanied by H.E. NONG Piseth, Deputy Director General of the TR, and his colleagues, chaired a workshop on “Reporting Entity’s Obligation and Property Frozen Reporting Form for Combating Financing of Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction” with the purpose to raise awareness of relevant institutional mechanisms and relevant regulations for reporting entity about 38 participants.
In the morning of Thursday, April 28, 2022, Trust Regulator (TR) and Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia (SERC) co-organized a dissemination workshop on the implementation of the Joint Guideline on “Registration and Additional Authorization of Trustee of Collective Investment Scheme and Custodian Agent in the Securities Sector” under the high presidency of H.E SOU SOCHEAT, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge as Director General of the SERC and H.E SOK DARA, Director General of the TR of the Non-Bank Financial Services Authority (FSA). This dissemination workshop took place at FSA’s Building in order to provide more awareness and insights on the provisions for and procedures of registration and additional authorization and other obligations of Trustee of Collective Investment Scheme and Custodian Agent in the securities sector aiming at promoting the implementation of relevant provisions and procedures to be more effective.
On 11 April 2022, H.E NEY Sakal, Deputy Director General of the Trust Regulator (TR), a high representative of H.E Sok Dara, Director General of the TR, and Mr. KHUN Veasna, Director of the General Affairs Department attended the First-Day Consultation Workshop on "the Draft Law on the New Public Financial System” under the presidency of H.E VONGSEY Vissoth, Minister Delegate Attached to the Prime Minister and the Permanent Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economy and Finance at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokitra Hotel.
In the morning of Tuesday, 26 April 2022, H.E. SOK Dara, Director General of Trust Regulator and a member of the Digital Economy and Business Committee, attended the first day of the National Consultation Workshop on “Policy and Direction of Cambodia’s Financial Technology”, which is presided by His Excellency Akka Pundit Sopheacha AUN Pornmoniroth, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance, and Chairman of the Digital Economy and Business Committee.
In the morning of Thursday, March 31, 2022, the Trust Regulator (TR) organized a seminar on "Understanding the Development Process of the Trust Sector in the Kingdom of Cambodia" under the high presidency of H.E SOK Dara, Director General of the Trust Regulator (TR) of the Non-Bank Financial Services Authority. The purpose of this seminar is to provide information and insights on the trust sector to the reporters who work at local television channels, radio channels, and news agencies.
In the morning of Monday, March 21, 2022, the Trust Regulator (TR) organized a workshop on "Law on Combating Financing of Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction” under the high presidency of H.E SOK Dara, Director General of the Trust Regulator (TR). The purpose of this workshop is to provide disseminate the awareness of the Law on Combating Financing of Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction to the participants from the trustees of Financial Trust, the Trustee Companies, and relevant persons.
In the morning of Tuesday, March 15, 2022, the Trust Regulator (TR) organized a seminar on "Trust Instrument Form” under the high presidency of H.E SOK Dara, Director General of the Trust Regulator (TR). The purpose of this seminar is to provide information and insights on the trust instrument preparation to the participants from the Financial Trust Companies, the Trustee Companies and the Fund Management Companies and relevant persons that provide services in the trust sector.
